I am Faculty at University of Arkansas in the Department of Psychological Science and serve as Director for the Social Perception and Human Evolution Research (SPHERE) Lab. My training is in social, personality, and evolutionary psychology. This work focuses on how motivations influence interpersonal decisions (e.g., allies, relationships). A typical teaching load for me are courses in social psychology, statistics, and research methods. I am also an Associate Editor at Personality and Individual Differences and Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences.
My training includes experiences with various perspectives. My postdoctoral fellowship was at Fairleigh Dickinson University with Dr. Bob McGrath in personality psychology. I have a PhD in Experimental Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi with Dr. Don Sacco. My M.A. is in Experimental Psychology from University of Dayton under Dr. Jack Bauer. I did my undergraduate in Psychology and German at Lake Erie College under Dr. Stephen Yachanin. |

Outside academia, I attempt stand-up comedy as Mitch the Scientist. Other interests include pro wrestling (Bryan Danielson put me in a crossface chickenwing), weightlifting, collecting Transformers, and amateur gecko keeping. My conversations are also unhinged with Muppets on Twitter.
